The Untold History of Daoism: From its Origin to Lao Zi to the 5 Secret Gates to Daoist Religion

Sifu Wing CheungBlog

I know it’s been ages since I dropped a newsletter or video, and I’ve even had some of you hitting me up, genuinely concerned if I’m still in the land of the living! 😂 Well, I actually started writing this newsletter right after I finished the Daoist Neigong Workshop back in February. And then shortly after, boom! China waved goodbye to its Covid lockdown policies and flung open its borders. Seemed like the perfect time to catch up with old pals and do a bit of wandering.

Next on the agenda? The growing season. Amidst my personal retreat for the past 5 years, I picked up a new hobby – farming. My little backyard is now a jungle of over 100 plant varieties. In my latest video you’ll see I’m looking all lean and sun-kissed, rocking that typical Asian farmer aesthetic! 😂

When you’re with the Dao, you can learn anything quickly, especially things related to nature. That’s the secret to my green thumb – I’m a plant wizard 🌿 😄. I even got invited by my friend who is a high school teacher to share my wisdom with the students on the art of plant propagation. For those of you who attended my workshops 15-20 years ago, you might recall how I taught you to communicate and exchange energy with different types of trees. 😉

Anyway, as the growing season winds down, I finally got back to that newsletter I started in February. Turns out, it morphed into a hefty 25 single-spaced pages of wisdom – practically a mini book! Too much for a newsletter, so I turned it into a video where I chatted on for almost an hour straight. Anyway, here it is. Grab some snacks and enjoy this video.
