This simple qigong focus on breathing and is efficiently designed to improve your health with as little as 20-30 minutes a day. You can learn Hua Shan Healing Qigong within weeks or even days, and there is no sequence to memorize. It is suitable for almost everyone, regardless of fitness level. With some modification, it may even be practiced by those who are compromised due to age, injury or illness. Each of its 36 exercises is designed to strengthen, revitalize or heal a specific part of the body. This flexible practice allows you to progress according to your own schedule. After you learned all 36, you can choose to practice those that suit your particular needs.

The 36 exercises and their benefits:

  1. Dan Tian Breathing – Improves lung capacity, intake of oxygen, exhalation of CO2, and stimulates many meridians.
  2. Breath Neutralization – Regulates breath, strengthens lungs and trachea, detoxifies, improves allergic rhinitis, sleep apnea, asthma, and immune functions.
  3. Liver – Improves detoxification, nourishes Xue Qi, and strengthens the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
  4. Kidneys – Strengthens the kidneys, reproductive organs, and prostate.
  5. Middle Burner – Strengthens the stomach and spleen, nourishes Zhong Qi.
  6. Legs – Strengthens leg muscles, knee joints, fingers and arms; smooths blood vessels of the feet; increases agility.
  7. Diaphragm – Prevents the calcification of the diaphragm; strengthens the spine, and helps digestion, absorption and excretion.
  8. Heart – Strengthens the heart and vascular system, nourishes Xue Qi.
  9. Ming Men – Improves over-all vitality, supports the other organs, and our ability to warm up.
  10. Chronic Cough – Strengthens the heart and improves chronic cough.
  11. Stomach – Removes gastrointestinal residue; and aids digestion, appetite and relieves constipation.
  12. Digestion – Massages the stomach, small intestine and large intestine; enhances Ying Qi, and eliminates belly fat; helps constipation.
  13. Bladder – Improves irregular menstruation, uneven urination, seminal emission, uterus prolapse, sterility, frequent urination, anuria, seminal emission, impotence, and hernia.
  14. Transport Qi to four Limbs – Strengthens the power of your 4 limbs, improves blood circulation, and prevents rheumatism and numbness in the limbs.
  15. Inject Qi to Dan Tian – Tonifies Zhong Qi; strengthens the gallbladder; prevents neurasthenia and depression (elevates emotions and spirit).
  16. Double Inhale – Strengthens the respiratory system, including the lungs, trachea and bronchi; and nourishes spleen and Wei Qi.
  17. Gao Huang – Exercises and activates the Gao Huang; improves function of the lungs and trachea; stretches the shoulder, back, and meridians of arms; prevents shoulder pain, back pain, and upper arm rheumatism.
  18. Neck and Shoulders – Strengthens the neck, preventing bone spurs; relieves stress and tension on neck and shoulders; promotes the secretion of pituitary hormones; and improves asthma.
  19. Transport Qi to Gao Huang – Dredges heart-lung and back blood vessels, prevents heart-lung vascular embolism, and relieves back pain.
  20. Thyroid – Regulates thyroid hormone secretion and immune function, and improves asthma.
  21. Upper Arms – Strengthens the muscles of the arms and fingers, and prevents rheumatism.
  22. Transport Qi into Bai Hui – Dredges blood vessels in the brain; promotes the proliferation of brain cells and capillaries; keeps the brain clear and sharp; prevents headaches, strokes, and dementia; improves depression; and stimulates the secretion of hormones from the pituitary and pineal glands.
  23. Triple Breath – Widens the chest cavity, increases lung capacity, and strengthens the spine, and ribs.
  24. Transport Qi to Ribs – Widens the chest cavity, increases the volume of lungs, strengthens the spine and ribs.
  25. Transport Qi into Yong Quan – Strengthens legs, kidneys, the urinary and reproductive systems; increases agility; prevents arthritis and rheumatism in the legs; and stimulates hormone secretions.
  26. Nose – Strengthens the nasal membrane, helps allergies, and improves immunity to resist colds and sinus issues.
  27. Transport Qi into both Yong Quan – Strengthens legs, bones, kidneys, the urinary and reproductive systems, increases agility, prevents arthritis and rheumatism in the legs, stimulates hormone secretions.
  28. Enhance Male Vitality – Enhances jing, improves urination issues, seminal emission, sterility, impotence, and hernia.
    Enhance Female Vitality – Enhances Xue Qi, improves menstrual issues, PMS, uterine bleeding, and issues with menopause, and sterility.
  29. Shoulders and Upper Back – Relieves tension and strengthens shoulders and upper back.
  30. Skin – Helps nourish blood circulation and qi flow around surface layers of the skin; strengthens Wei Qi.
